A Message From The President
Letter from the President
The Truckee River Trout Unlimited Chapter was officially introduced into the TU world on February of 2010. The chapter is mostly made up of a bunch of young guys who are extremely passionate about protecting and preserving our beloved Truckee Watershed. We have had a very successful two years and have completed many projects and events to better the local fisheries and spread the word about Trout Unlimited’s mission. From teaching children about the magical world of fly fishing to restoring trout streams in Truckee, we’ve been very busy making the watershed a better place for future generations to enjoy.
For the most part, the TRTU #103’s board is mainly comprised of young fly fishing industry professionals from local guides, fly shop staff, writers, and photographers, but we all have one thing in common, the love of the Truckee area fisheries. Our annual projects include the Truckee River Day, Children’s Environmental Science Day, Great Sierra River Cleanup Day, and our annual Fishmas Eve fundraiser!
If you share our love of the outdoors, healthy fisheries, and would like to be a “Tahoe Trout Bum,” we strongly urge you to visit www.tu.org and become a Trout Unlimited member. Even if you don’t live here in the Truckee/Tahoe area, you can request to be a member of the TRTU #103 chapter and your money will go directly to projects here in Truckee and will ultimately help us to achieve all of our goals to make the watershed the very best it can be. Thank you for stopping by and checking out our website and we look forward to working with the community in the years to come.
